Après avoir terminé ses études à Rogersville, George est allé travailler pour le C.N.R. à Newcastle, Moncton et Fredericton. En 1952, il suit un cours de soudage au Moncton Community College. Après avoir terminé ses cours, il a travaillé à Toronto, Kinston et Oshawa. De 1955 à 1976, il a travaillé sur de nombreux projets de construction à Gagetown, Goose Bay, Saint John, à l'Université de Moncton, à l'usine de pâte Fraser à Newcastle ainsi que sur de nombreux autres projets dans la province. En 1976, avec 3 autres associés, il devient copropriétaire de Sunny Corner Mechanical (1976) à Newcastle. Il prend sa retraite du poste de vice-président le 30 novembre 1990. De 1964 à 2023, George a fait du bénévolat auprès de nombreuses organisations.

After completion of his course he worked in Toronto, Kinston and Oshawa. From 1955 to 1976 he worked in many constructions' projects in Gagetown, Goose Bay, Saint John, at University of Moncton, at the Fraser Pulp Mill in Newcastle along with many other projects in the province. In 1976, along with 3 other partners, he became co-owner of Sunny Corner Mechanical (1976) in Newcastle. He retired as vice-president November 30th, 1990.
