Charles spent his last 16 years working at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, where he was a Manager.

He also worked as Manager of Museum Services at the province's Heritage Branch;

Executive Director of Association Museums New Brunswick;

and as Director of the Moncton Museum.
