Irene's first job was at W.J. Cormier grocery store in East Bathurst, then she worked as a sales representative at the old Sears store on Main St. She then went on to work in the credit department at Kmart and later with the Social Services Depart

ment as a home maker. In earlier years, she was a Girl Guide Leader and was a member of former East Bathurst C.W.L. and the Golden Age Club.
