Mark was a mechanic by trade and worked at Lounsbury's, Doucet Landscaping and operated his own business. He also worked in supervisory positions in the mining industry in Bathurst, Raglan QC, and Wabush NL.

He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Branch 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, serving in several positions and was past president and a life member. He was a third degree Knights of Columbus, 1935.
