Gabriel graduated Mt. Allison University (B. Mus.'50) and taught music in the public school system for 30 years, acting as Music Director for several musicals at SHS.

He also taught piano to countless students, many of whom went on to careers in music as performers and teachers in Canada, Europe and the US.
