Odilas a travaillé comme bûcheron et a travaillé pendant de nombreuses années pour Connors Bros à Blacks Harbour NB.

Après sa retraite, il s'est toujours occupé et n'a jamais su ce que signifie « s'ennuyer ».

En plus de s'occuper de son jardin, de pêcher et de chasser, il avait toujours un projet d'invention en cours.
