He served in the Royal Canadian Army from 1939-1946 and remained in the army reserves for a few years afterward. He went overseas in 1941 with the North Shore Regiment and was transferred to the Canadian General Headquarters (2nd Echelon). He serv

ed in England and throughout Europe, including Germany. For his distinguished wartime service, he was awarded the MBE(Military Division) in 1945. While in England, he met Rose Copsey whom he married on May 24, 1945. For most of his working career

, he was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from which he retired at the age of 55. He subsequently undertook work as an insurance broker and estate planner. Paul was an avid golfer and member of the Moncton Golf Club since 1971

. He was also very dedicated to his church as an active member of Holy Family Parish and a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. For many years, he was an enthusiastic volunteer at Peoples Park Tower and Karing Kitchen.
