Ann was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, attended Simonds Regional High School and graduated from Modern Business College. She started playing sports as a young child, including badminton, basketball, hockey and her most favourite -- baseball

. She was a very creative person and loved to work with leather and wood, and also loved to draw and paint. "Annie" as she was referred to by her friends worked very hard for her community in Calgary.
