dé le Picnic-5P ainsi que le Carnaval et Frolic d’hiver de Richibucto. En 1985 et 1995, il a dirigé le pique-nique provincial au parc municipal Jardine de Richibucto. En marge du premier Congrès mondial acadien de 1994, il a présidé les préparatif

s de la Foire internationale des métiers d’art de Richibucto.

Du côté de la politique municipale, entre 1983 et 2008, Yvon s’est investi passionnément et fièrement pendant près de 17 ans comme conseiller au sein du conseil de la Ville de Richibucto, incluant près de six années en tant qu’adjoint au maire

. De 1985 à 2000, pendant un an à la vice-présidence et deux à la présidence, il a dirigé et représenté sa municipalité au sein de la Commission d’aménagement du district de Kent.

Au moment de la retraite, vers 2001, Yvon avait exercé pendant près de 40 ans les métiers de soudeur et de poseur de tuyau pour le Local 325 (anciennement 699), incluant trois ans comme agent d’affaires. Pour de courtes périodes, il a égalemen

t été pompier volontaire, gérant de l’aréna Charles-J.-Daigle et de la Marina du Suroît, ainsi que copropriétaire d’Apollo ‘77 Sport avec son épouse.

Son estime et son attachement pour la famille des Joseph W. et Madeleine Richard ne l’ont jamais quitté. En 1989, avec plusieurs autres descendants, Yvon a participé activement à la création du Domaine au pont couvert inc., qui célébrera son 25

e anniversaire en 2014, par l’achat de la maison patrimoniale de Wilfrid et Émilie Richard à Camerons Mill, lieu de rencontres et de rassemblement des descendants de Joseph W. et Madeleine Richard.

At retirement in 2001, Yvon had worked close to 40 years as welder and pipefitter with local 325 (previously 699), including three years as business agent. For short periods of time, he was also a volunteer firefighter, manager of Charles J. Daigl

e arena and of "Marina du Suroît" as well as co-owner of Apollo '77 Sport with his wife.

His respect and affection for the Joseph W. and Madeleine Richard family never left him. In 1989, with several descendants, Yvon actively participated to the creation of the "Domaine au pont couvert inc.", by buying the ancestral home of Wilfri

d and Émilie Richard in Camerons Mill – a location for meetings and gatherings of Joseph W. and Madeleine Richard descendants, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2014.
